Our Commitment to Accessibility
Lightning Computer Repair is committed to ensuring that our digital services are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology. We believe that the internet should be an inclusive space, and we are actively working to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
Measures to Support Accessibility
To ensure a high-performance, inclusive experience for all users in San Jose and beyond, we implement the following:
- Ally Accessibility Assistant: We have integrated the Ally by Elementor accessibility widget. This tool allows visitors to customize their user interface (UI) in real-time, including adjusting color contrast, font legibility, and pausing animations.
- Keyboard Navigation: All critical site functions, including appointment booking, are navigable via keyboard only.
- Alt Text: We provide descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images (like our repair bench and equipment).
- Color Contrast: We maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for all text to ensure readability for users with low vision.
- Aria Labels: We use technical labels to ensure screen readers can accurately interpret our site structure.
Conformance Status
Our website is currently “Partially Conformant” with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. While the Ally Assistant provides immediate UI remediations, we are continuously auditing our underlying code to identify and fix structural barriers.
Known Limitations & Alternatives
Despite our best efforts, some third-party elements may present challenges. Below are known limitations and our provided workarounds:
- Third-Party Maps (Google Maps)
- Limitation: The interactive map on our contact page may be difficult to navigate using only a keyboard.
- Alternative: Please contact us at 408-660-3748 for verbal directions to our Japantown location.
- Appointment Booking Calendar
- Limitation: Some screen readers may experience difficulty with the date-picker grid.
- Alternative: We are happy to book your appointment manually via phone or email at drcleanpc@gmail.com.
- Legacy PDF Documents
- Limitation: Older invoices or guides may not be fully optimized for screen readers.
- Alternative: Contact us for a text-based version; we will provide it within 48 hours.
- Video Captions
- Limitation: Older videos may lack synchronized closed captioning.
- Alternative: We can provide a written transcript of any video content upon request.
